Why should I get waxed/sugared?Waxing is one of the best ways to temporarily remove unwanted hair. It is more effective than shaving because it removes the hair from the roots, not just the skin’s surface. Over time hair regrows thinner and softer.

It's my 1st wax/sugar, what should I do?"You’ve finally decided to try this thing! Here are a few tips to do before and after that help make your wax experience the best ever! BEFORE YOUR WAX: For best results, stop shaving (removing hair) for 2 full weeks before your appointment Exfoliate the night before your appointment Please arrive 5-10 minutes before your appointment time If possible, do not wear deodorant, lotions, or oils to your appointment. Doing so makes it harder for your hair to be removed. When receiving intimate services, always freshen up in the ladies room first!

What's the difference between wax & sugaring?Sugaring is applied with the esthetician’s hands directly onto the skin (they wear gloves, of course), while we use wooden sticks for our hard wax. Sugaring pulls the hair in the direction it grows (wax pulls against), so many find it to be a gentler, less painful process. Both products are warm and have a honey-like consistency.

What is the diiference between a Brazilian, Deep Bikini, and Bikini?"A Brazilian wax includes everything from front to back (Butt strip is optional). A Deep Bikini is an extended version of the bikini (Butt strip is optional). A Bikini Line is just the outer area, including the top of the vaginal area and the two sides. Typically everything that would be visible when wearing a bikini.

What should I expect during a wax/sugaring?You will be greeted by our front desk when you check in, then your esthetician will come get you from the waiting area and you’ll be shown to a treatment room. She will leave while you remove your bottom layer of clothing and return when you’re ready. Brazilians take about 15 minutes, and we show movies and Sex and the City episodes in all the treatment rooms, so times flies.

Do I need to be really hairy before my wax/sugaring?If it’s your first wax/sugaring ever, we recommend you haven’t shaved for at least 10 days (2 weeks preferably). We recommend waiting three to four weeks between wax/sugaring appointments, but if you need to see us sooner than that to freshen up, we can certainly accommodate you.
-
Does it hurt?Bottom line, you’re pulling hair out of its follicle so yes, it will be a little uncomfortable. To ease the pain, we recommend exfoliating the area in the shower the day before your treatment. You should also drink lots of water the day of your appointment and avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to your appointment. And if it’s your first time and you find it to be painful, it gets easier every time. We promise.
-
What should I expect immediately afterwards? For waxing, you may be a tad red and sensitive for up to 24 hours after. We recommend not working out (or um, having sex) within 24 hours. For sugaring, most clients experience a little redness for an hour or so, but go on about their normal lives (exercise, sex and all) immediately after.
-
How long will I be fuzz-free?Everybody is different, but most clients who get waxed/sugaring regularly come every four weeks (give or take). Sugaring keeps the hair away a little longer, and the more you do it, the less the hair grows back; and for many, it grows back thinner and softer.
-
How often should I get waxed/sugared?Because the hair growth cycle is 28 days, typically you should get waxed every 4 weeks, however your waxpert will assess your hair and give you specific instructions according to your hair type and growth. Facial waxes and underarm waxes are sometimes preformed every 2 weeks.
-
Can I shave in between my wax/sugar appointment?Waxing slows down and reduces hair growth. Hair also grows much thinner thus making it easier to remove and less painful when waxed. Shaving just one time in between will negate all that is gained from waxing and can further irritate follicles which can cause ingrown hair. So no we do not advise shaving in between.
-
Can I get waxed/sugared on my period?Yes! You can receive a wax during your menstrual, however please be advised this is a sensitive time for the body and waxes often feel more uncomfortable, you may experience more discomfort than usual. We also ask that you wear a new, clean tampon during your service. Don’t have a tampon, no worries we are always stocked with sanitary items located inside our bathroom!
-
Can I be waxed/sugared while pregnant? We love pampering our new mommy’s! Besides after a while you have a hard time reaching all your areas so let us help you out. You can most definitely get waxed while you’re pregnant. However, you may experience more skin sensitivity due to the hormonal changes your body is going through. Our Waxperts will make sure you are as comfortable as possible during the service.
-
Do I have to remove my piercing to get waxed/sugared?We recommend that you remove your piercing for the best wax experience. If you prefer not to remove your piercing, the Waxpert will work around it but may leave a few hairs that are too close to touch.
-
My child wants to start waxing/sugaring, is that okay?"Children receiving a wax service is completely normal, and the age your child starts their waxing journey is completely up to you, the parent. We do require guests under 16 to have parental consent for any wax service.
-
Why am I getting ingrowns? Some people are prone to ingrown hairs regardless of how well they take care of their skin. In this case a skincare regimen is needed. Using a professional grade product, exfoliating at least 3 times a week, and practicing proper hair removal will treat and prevent ingrown hairs.
-
Will waxing get rid of my hyperpigmentation?Waxing will help reverse hyperpigmentation, dark spots, & uneven skin because it is a form of exfoliation, however reversing damaged skin takes consistent treatment. Hyper pigmented skin should also be treated with professional products immediately upon damage and thereafter. The longer the skin goes untreated the longer it will take to reverse.
